This developmental edit provides big-picture feedback on your novel, including plot structure, character development, pacing, and overall story cohesion. After you make your edits, we will complete a manuscript evaluation to ensure that your edits achieved the desired result.

Step 1: First Read

First, I’ll review your manuscript to get a sense of the highlights and opportunities for improvement.

Step 2: Developmental Edit

I complete a comprehensive developmental edit of your manuscript, identifying structural, character, pacing, and thematic issues and providing detailed guidance for revision.

Step 3: Author Revision Period

After receiving the developmental edit, you will revise the manuscript independently based on the feedback provided.

Step 4: Manuscript Evaluation

Once revisions are complete, you will resubmit the revised manuscript for a manuscript evaluation. I review the new draft holistically to assess how effectively the developmental feedback was implemented and to identify any remaining high-level issues.
